In PM, metrics are measures of things. Defining, selecting, applying, or calculating measurements of progress or activity on a project.
Metrics questions are generally about:
- What things to measure.
- How to measure those things.
Some common uses of the metrics tag would include questions about:
- Key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Velocity and burn-down charts.
- Throughput or cycle-time analyses.
- Completion or activity estimates, e.g. "This task is 83% done."
