But if compensation is not tied to performance (see 1st point), and the team is doing this for its own benefit (see main paragraph), why would it cheat itself? This might seem laughable, but I've seen this basic approach work great in 2 companies (1 in California, 1 in Texas). Metrics won't help a hostile culture though. Culture first, metrics second. | |
