Kanban / Scrum software
The cure for that is to make him use TFS for a couple months. Then he will hunger for JIRA.

Kanban / Scrum software
That is a bad policy. We live in a world where we rely on software to do our jobs, not just canonical answers, and this is the project management forum. We shouldn't have to go to a completely separate exchange site to get recommendations.

Can Product Owner + Scrum Master (Team/Kanban Lead) provide combined leadership for a team?
That is an interesting and solid point. Sometimes the loudest emerges instead of the most qualified. I think that is rare though. In my (however many years) in the business world, I have seen this happen maybe once, and even then it wasn't long before he was not taken seriously. Still, you do have a good point. Thanks for the comment.

UML Class Diagram for the sprints
My happy pleasure! If I ever need to explain scrum to developers again I will try to use this technique. Thanks for the really great idea!

UML Class Diagram for the sprints
I feel it is a bit strong to say that it is "doomed to be perpetually inaccurate", although I do see your point. I prefer to think of it as something that, in a very Agile-y way, can be constantly iterated over and improved. Also, your point about the team-centric nature of scrum is well taken. Perhaps it is better to say that the UML diagram can be made more accurate on a team by team basis, customizing it as necessary to fit their internal strategies? Anyway, thanks for the contribution!

Making Retrospectives Effective in a Long-Running Project
@JDRoger I meant to add this comment here... somehow it ended up above... Absolutely! You know Rock Paper Scissor? Basically, the entire team strikes their closed fist onto an open palm twice and then all at the same time they throw out the number of fingers that represents how they feel something went. The more fingers the better. It is a quick way to gauge how the team feels about something. I always do a Fist of Five after Sprint Planning, for example.
